Graphics & Annotations

Graphics and Annotations SOCET GXP has powerful graphic capabilities that make it easy for you to manage multiple graphic files and layers to create professional looking end products. The Graphics Manager is a single GUI that lets you control icons, graphics, template editing, counting and layering. You can copy and paste, import ESRI® shapefiles, or assign graphics to certain layers within the panel—and graphics can be saved in the SOCET GXP file format or the ESRI shapefile format for exchange with other systems.

No other software package offers such a robust graphics and annotation capability or ease of use, making the job of analysis more efficient than ever. Data can be shared across multiple project layers, individual layers, or combined to create a complete scenario for the field. Common symbols and annotations are easy to recognize, enhancing the success rate of the mission. You can jump to selected graphics quickly; count annotated objects in the image; create and merge new layers; move graphics between layers maintaining all annotations; and turn graphic layers on and off. This is very useful when a graphics file containing location markers is loaded for review.

Furthermore, flexible viewing options include ground space, image space or display space, which assists in creating template products with precise points of interest. When identifying objects on the ground, you need ground space graphics that are tied to the actual ground coordinate rather than a line and sample on the image. This feature gives users unprecedented accuracy in working with graphics. In addition, unlike other software packages SOCET GXP’s innovative ground space viewing capabilities allow you to transfer ground space graphics to a geospatial database.
