Terrain tracking is a critical component of IA/GA analysis, which allows you to display terrain data with or without the
image, or to display the terrain footprints inside of the panel to determine what coverage is available.
In SOCET GXP, you can define an area to analyze; for example, tracking troop movements and evaluating terrain conditions during all phases of an operation. Using terrain data, you can generate a digital model of the land surface and use it to identify the terrain over a user-defined path.
The Terrain Visualization toolbar manages the display of terrain data—you control the display characteristics of terrain data in each panel. Terrain may be displayed using dots, mesh, contours, or a combination of all three. And with a single click on the Terrain Visualization toolbar, you can create Terrain Shaded Relief (TSR).
Future SOCET GXP releases will allow you to generate and edit terrain models using a suite of editing tools, which is another step towards integrating IA and GA capabilities into a single software tool to support both roles.
